2024 IOAA Results
During the 17th to 27th of August this year, The New Zealand team consisting of George Zhu (Kings College), Jiahong Yu (Pinehurst School) and Andrew Zhang (Wentworth Computer Science College) competed in the 17th IOAA, held in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.
The team, lead by Dr. Karen Jillings of Massey University, was the first team from New Zealand in more than 10 years to compete on the global stage for the IOAA. The team did exceptionally well, notably with Jiahong walking away with an Honourable Mention, which is no small feat for a country that had not participated for such a long time. We would like to express our deepest congratulations to Jiahong for his achievements.
While we congratulate Jiahong, the NZOAA would also like to thank the team members, as well as the team leader Dr. Karen Jillings for all their commitments to the competition this year.
