Competition Rules
The NZOAA is open to all highschool students within New Zealand, however to be eligible to represent New Zealand at the IOAA, students must be either a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident.
The 2025 NZOAA will commence in August, exact date will be confirmed closer to the date. It consists of challenging problems in alignment with the official IOAA syllabus, and they are designed to challenge and bring out each students’ potential as much as possible.
Representing New Zealand
Depending on regulations from the international committee, the top three to five best performing students from the NZOAA will be invited to represent New Zealand at that year’s IOAA, to be held in a different country each year.
The NZOAA competition in August will aim to select a team to represent New Zealand at the 2026 IOAA.
